The University of Manchester invites applications for a Research Technician to contribute to the development work of the Radio Astronomy Technology group and be part of the team of academics, researchers, engineers and technicians designing, manufacturing and testing novel instrumentation for Astronomy, from cm to sub-mm wavelengths.
The successful candidate will have a degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering with experience of working in a clean room environment, particularly relating to photolithographic techniques and the use of microwave measurement equipment. Working in a team, you will have good communication skills, communicating technical information with highly educated professionals from different disciplines.
The post will be available from March 2010 for up to 24 months.
Part-Time: 17.5 hours per week
