| POSITION: DATABASE DEVELOPER As the largest independent direct marketing agency in the UK, LBM is a results-driven marketing agency that designs and delivers unique marketing and planning strategies for a range of blue-chip clients. LBM is ranked in the UK’s fastest growing top 100 businesses. Role Summary LBM is uniquely placed as the UK’s fastest growing data supplier. The Database Developer will be responsible for the analysis of data and the design and development of databases for a number of large new and existing clients. The Developer will be required to provide LBM’s clients with a complete data hosting package solution. Working across the full project lifecycle, the Developer will provide a “tailor made” data solution - gathering data feeds, developing reporting systems and creating prospect lists, as well as providing ongoing data management. Key Responsibilities The main function of the Database Developer role will be to provide clients with a complete data hosting package. You will work closely with LBM Client Services and external clients to tailor make a solution matching given business objectives and requirements. Using your strong knowledge of SQL Server, you will be required to efficiently manage and process client data in line with outlined business needs. You will be heavily involved in the analysis, design and development of client databases. You must be adaptable to the requirements of smaller and larger clients alike. For larger clients, you may be required to use your expert knowledge to provide a more extensive profile, monitoring aspects like transaction history, managing direct marketing campaigns and maintaining client CRM databases. You may also be required to use other software packages directly linked to the processing of data. You will be required to design reporting systems and deliver information in a straightforward, comprehensible format. You will be required to plan you own project work; an ability to work unattended will be essential. Technical Skills MS SQL Server. An understanding of other Database Packages would be advantageous (Oracle, Access, Fox Pro). Experience At least 2 years commercial t-SQL development experience is essential to this role. Strong problem solving skills are essential to this role. The candidate should show a true interest in analysing data. Exposure to Reporting Services/Crystal Reports or similar reporting systems is desirable although not essential. SQL Server administration skills or any experience of working on Large Database systems would be an advantage. Personal Attributes Must be able to work under pressure. Must be able to work on own initiative. Must have good interpersonal / communication skills to work closely with internal and external contacts alike. Must be able to demonstrate an ability to perform to a high standard within an ever-changing and dynamic working environment. Must be confident to challenge ideas and concepts where applicable.
