Our client is a major provider of specialist public sector services in the Greater Manchester Area. Their head office Finance Division is based in Old Trafford and is responsible for all financial and property management for the North West Region.
Their current requirement is for a suitably experienced Accountant with strong technical and supervisory skills to take on the management of the Central Finance Team - in turn reporting to the Finance Director.
Responsibilities will include:
- management of a team of seven staff with responsibilities across ledgers and payroll
- assistance with the implementation of the financial planning process ensuring that the revenue budget is prepared
- ensuring that the financial management arrangements operate effectively including implementation of delegated budgets
- overseeing the preparation of annual accounts
- liaison with external and internal auditors
Candidates should be strong leaders, possess comprehensive technical skills, and possess a commitment and understanding of nondiscriminatory practice.
