Our clients require a male residential child care worker with experience of working with children with disabilities. Residential experience is not essential though the post is within a residential setting and therefore entails duties implied with residential work. Work involves looking after children with complex physical disabilities, moderate to sever learning difficulties and children and young people with autistic spectrum disorders. Children and young people within the age range 6 to 18 are accommodated overnight.
The applicant will be required to work early (7am to 3pm), late (12.30pm till 8.30pm), sleep in shifts. Two out of three weekends are also worked.
The work involves meeting the care needs of all children accommodated and experience of manual handling and the administration of medication is essential. Other in house training will be provided to the applicant. The postholder will also be required to undertake individual key working tasks.
The post holder must have an ebhanced CRB Disclosure and at least 1 years experience of working in residential care setting.
