A Manchester based organisation requires a Financial Controller to manage and develop the finance department within this quasi public sector organisation. The role is on a temporary to permanent basis and will be based in Manchester.
The role will involve managing two finance staff and the delivery of accounting functions of the business including managing the accounts payable and receivable functions. You will be producing regular management accounts to support in performance reviews. You will also be preparing statutory financial information and liaison with Internal and External Auditors. There will also be a high degree of system management and the development of Aggresso system. You will also be expected to complete all group financial reporting requirements in a prompt and accurate fashion, as well as effective cash management and forecasting mechanisms. The maintenance of accounting records, systems and controls in accordance with UK GAAP will be another key aspect of the job

The ideal candidate will have worked in a finance environment for at least two years and have experience of producing full management accounts. Possession of CAAB qualification or progress towards qualification is preferred. The potholder must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge and application of commercial accounting requirements, coupled with an understanding and appreciation of the company’s objectives and not for profit status. In addition, competency in the production of management accounts, budgets and forecasts, the job holder should be able to demonstrate good and up to date understanding of technical accounting principles. A high degree of IT literacy is required, including MS Excel and Aggresso system knowledge is an advantage. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential as the post holder should be clear and have credibility dealing with the chief executive and budget holders. They should also be able to communicate and work with people at all levels.
