Due to expansion our client, a highly regarded regional commercial firm, is seeking another solicitor to join their team of employment law specialists whose head has been quoted in Chambers 500 in their offices based in Central Manchester.
In this ever-changing area of law you will be required to work closely with a broad range of private corporate and commercial and public clients to ensure they get the best results and do not fall foul of current legislation by giving constructive guidance and support.
The work that you will be required to do is mainly non-contentious and will relate to such matters as service level agreements, policies and procedures, maternity and parental rights and flexible working arrangements, discrimination, unfair or wrongful dismissal, employment tribunal advocacy, restrictive covenants, compromise agreements and employer aspects of mergers and acquisitions and restructures.
You will need to have strong technical knowledge of employment law combined with a practical approach and the confidence to ask for advice and guidance when necessary as you will be required to give suggestions and solutions that offer the least risk in areas of law that are sometimes unclear and are often in the process of being tested.
As our client also runs an employers help line a good telephone manner is essential as are strong communication skills as a good deal of client contact is telephone based.
You should have had experience of drafting handbooks etc and will need therefore good research skills and the ability to put a document together to make it easily comprehendible.
