ANALYST DEVELOPERS READ ON!!!

I am looking to make contact with bright individuals that are looking to take their next step on the career ladder.

My client is looking for an Analyst Developer for a role based in Salford with a salary of 30K.

Purpose of Role

To develop and support the business delivering timely and effective IT solutions meeting business requirements, deadlines and adhering to standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. To develop according to defined and agreed requirements/deadlines

2. When requested to work with the business/IT to ensure clear requirements are defined, documented and agreed as required.

3. To ensure that all requirements are reviewed by a senior team member and audit log exists.

4. When instructed to work directly with the business in developing solutions and resolving issues.

5. Know and adhere to standards and procedures at all times.

6. Provide timely and effective report progress on all tasks to the business and IT.

7. Escalate immediately any issues that will impact on delivery in terms of deadline, quality, standards etc.

8. Ensure all tasks are tested appropriately ensuring high availability and for significant changes ensure details are recorded for future regression. Assist the business with user acceptance testing as necessary.

9. To assist with the support and maintenance of IT systems ensuring development tasks are handed over to support to allow effective on-going support.

10. To be aware of and work towards department, team and individual goals.

11. To ensure that assigned departments/teams are satisfied with approach and software delivered

12. Ensure security and confidentiality are considered and maintained at all times and any issues are escalated within the team and also to IMO. This includes ensuring that within sensitive areas of the system actions can be controlled/restricted via appropriate permissions.

13. Ensure all code is stored in the appropriate source code library

14. Review, update and produce system documentation as required.

15. Provide cover to helpdesk and business during live deployments.

16. Accurately record timesheets

Essential Criteria

1. Self motivated and committed individual with a pro-active approach able to work on own and as part of a team with a professional attitude and approach.

2. Good experience of IT development and in-particular analyst/developer role.

3. Proven communication skills, both written and verbal.

4. Must be able to work and absorb pressure, whilst maintaining a professional and positive approach both within the office environment and to the business.

5. Ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure prioritizing in order to achieve objectives.

6. Analytical, forward thinker with the ability to work on own using their initiative

7. Ability to identify issues quickly & proactively resolve

8. Windows Forms development

9. Ability to review, develop and implement systems

10. Ability to establish effective working relations with immediate staff and other staff in the business

Desirable Criteria

1. Business/customer facing experience

2. Have previous experience of financial systems and businesses

3. Experience with structured source code management

4. Distributed application development

5. Multi user concurrency experience

6. Full life-cycle exposure

7. Web development exposure

1. VB .NET- Essential

2. SQL Server - Essential

3. VB6 - Desirable

4. Object Oriented Development - Desirable

5. Visual Source Safe - Desirable

6. XML - Desirable

7. ASP.Net - Desirable
