    My client, a regulatory body working with local government are seeking a Programme Director, City Centre Manchester. Salary £55,000 - £68,000 with excellent benefits.

    My client, a regulatory organisation who work with local government are seeking a Programme Director on a 9 month fixed term basis. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of the set of core programmes and projects that aim to take the company through the transition to the role of a strategic regulator. You will shape and take responsibility for the delivery of a portfolio of programmes and projects to operationalise and support (in systems terms) the organisation's approach to strategic regulation as it is developed and determined by the company, particularly the development of an entity risk framework from the new role.

    The role will be to ensure that there is an appropriate and fit for purpose control framework and project management process in place to effectively manage the quality, cost and delivery of the projects and programmes to prescribed standards. Main responsibilities:

    Conduct a review of programmes and projects to identify the portfolio of programmes and projects and their respective size, scale, priority, cost, risk and current status.
    Facilitate the development of the organisation's approach to programme and project governance and control and ensure that is it consistently applied within the organisation.
    Conduct a review and re-definition of the proposed Phase Two of the organisation's IT programme to determine and recommend next steps in systems development given our emerging understanding of strategic regulation strategies.
    Deliver Phase Two of our IT programme as agreed by the organisation (assuming it is small scale.
    Collate and deliver our data and document handling projects into one programme and ensure the delivery of them, including the obtaining of relevant ISO accreditation by the end of the business year.
    Define our knowledge management programme/project to determine whether or how much work is necessary and progress the programme so far as is possible in the time available.
    To keep all programmes and projects under review and to advise the Chief Executive and senior managers of any desirable development or adjustment of the portfolio or to individual programmes and projects


    Essential experience:
    Experience of working at a senior management level
    Proven track record of visible and effective leadership
    Experience of shaping the strategic development of an organisation to meet its future needs
    Experience in the design, build and application of IT systems
    Knowledge and experience of project portfolio management and project management tools
    Track record in the delivery of successful projects to meet the strategic needs of an organisation
    An understanding of data management and document handling protocols and supporting tools.
